About Geospatial Research & Knowledge Society
Empowering the next generation of spatial scientists through ethical, free, and accessible academic resource guidance.Academic Ethos Statement
GrKs operates as a non-profit, volunteer-driven platform. We believe that true learning comes not from financial gain but from curiosity, collaboration, and selfless service to society. We guide students in developing scientific rigor, ensuring that geospatial knowledge is used responsibly for societal and environmental benefits.
Our Foundation
The Geospatial Research and Knowledge Society (GrKs) was established to resolve the severe disparity in geoinformatics training and data access. Emerging technologies like Remote Sensing, Satellite Imaging, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), drone mapping, and spatial analytics have transformed environmental science, agriculture, disaster management, climate studies, urban planning, and infrastructure development.
Despite these technological advancements, access to quality education, advanced software, premium datasets, and professional research guidance remains financially out of reach for many undergraduate and postgraduate students, particularly in developing academic environments. GrKs was founded with a vision to bridge this knowledge gap through accessible education, collaborative research, and community-driven learning.
By bringing together experienced geoinformatics researchers, university faculty members, scientists, industry professionals, and aspiring scholars, GrKs has built a collaborative ecosystem where learning extends beyond traditional classrooms. We encourage interdisciplinary thinking, practical applications, scientific innovation, and continuous skill development through workshops, research projects, technical tutorials, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Our objective extends beyond teaching students how to process satellite imagery or analyze spatial datasets. We are equally committed to nurturing ethical researchers by promoting honesty, transparency, scientific integrity, responsible data handling, accurate reporting, plagiarism-free research practices, and socially beneficial applications of geospatial technology. Through these principles, GrKs aims to cultivate future professionals capable of contributing meaningful solutions to environmental sustainability, resource management, disaster resilience, and evidence-based decision-making.

Our Core Values
We are dedicated to maintaining academic integrity while cultivating a collaborative and supportive environment.
1. Ethics & Moral Integrity
We emphasize moral development, guiding learners to act responsibly in research and academic activities. Students are encouraged to collaborate, share knowledge openly, respect intellectual property, and maintain honesty in every stage of scientific investigation. GrKs strongly discourages plagiarism, fake coordinate mapping, manipulated satellite imagery, fabricated datasets, misleading interpretations, and unethical publication practices.
2. Accessibility & Inclusivity
We believe geospatial education should be accessible to everyone regardless of economic background. Through free learning resources, collaborative projects, workshops, and mentorship, GrKs promotes equal opportunities for students, researchers, educators, and professionals from diverse communities.
3. Excellence in Learning
We continuously encourage curiosity, innovation, and scientific excellence by providing practical training, advanced GIS techniques, remote sensing applications, spatial modelling, programming skills, and research-oriented learning experiences.
4. Community Engagement
GrKs promotes collaboration between students, universities, research organizations, government agencies, NGOs, and industry experts to solve real-world spatial problems while contributing positively to society and sustainable development.
